Early life and Education

Spears was born 2 December 1981 in McComb, Mississippi, to James Parnell Spears and Lynne Irene Bridges and she is their second child. Spears has two siblings, an older brother, Bryan James and a younger sister, Jamie Lynn.

On the advice of Talent agent Nancy Carson, Spears’ mother enrolled her into the Professional Performing Arts School in New York, after which Spears appeared on ‘Star Search’ a popular television show. From December 1992 until 1996, Spears appeared on ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’ Post the show’s cancellation Spears relocated to her hometown in Mississippi and enrolled into Parklane Academy, McComb.

Spears’ debut album ‘Baby One More time’ in 1999, became an instant international success and was also named the best-selling album by any teenage solo pop singer. She gave her second consecutive hit ‘Oops!… I Did It Again’ in 2000 which was also considered an international success, and the title tracks of both the albums broke international sales records. Her third album was self-titled named ‘Britney’, released in 2001 and also appeared in a lead role in the 2002 film ‘Crossroads’. By 2003, Spears assumed the complete creative control of her albums and released ‘In the Zone’, her fourth album, which featured the hit single ‘Toxic’, deemed an international success.

Spears’ troubled personal life stayed in the news from 2004-2007, which required her to go on a self imposed hiatus. She returned later in 2007 with her fifth album ‘Blackout’ that featured the hit singles ‘Piece of Me’ and ‘Gimme More’. Personal Life

Spears first dated actor-singer Justin Timberlake from 1999-2002 but the couple broke up due to Spears alleged infidelity. In 2004, Spears married Jason Allen Alexander, her friend, but got the marriage annulled in 55 hours, citing that she was unaware of what she was doing. She got engaged to Kevin Federline in the same year, after dating him for three months and had her first child, a son named Sean Preston Federline, born in 2005. In 2006, the couple became parents to daughter Jayden James Federline, but filed for divorce and shared joint custody of their children.

 

Spears checked into a rehabilitation facility in 2007 and lost custody of her children owing to her declining mental health at the time. She started dating Adnan Ghalib, a paparazzo in 2007 and then dated Jason Trawik, her then agent. She ended her professional relationship with Trawick, but continued dating him for four years.
