Squid Game – Mistakes and Unanswered Questions

  1. There is not much information given about the organ harvester, where he came from and how he was able to ply his trade.
  2. The main character Seong Gi-hun  gets stabbed twice in the final fight but carries on fairly easily, but his friend Cho Sang-woo  gets bit in the foot and he becomes completely unable to defend after that
  3. The cop Hwang Jun-ho’s battery life is great, isn’t it? No phones are allowed, so getting a charging cable is out of question. Even the  Front Man uses the land line.
  4. The police chief definitely caught some of what Hwang Jun-ho was saying on the phone. Why was no back-up sent to his location?
  5. One man should have died in the marbles round. Granted, Il-Lam was the owner of the games but then he should have had Gi-hun killed, because the rules of the games stating that one person has to die and the games always had clear rules.
  6. The married couple who return are shocked to know that only one of them are going to leave alive. But wasn’t this something that they should have been ready for?
  7. The VIPs could have been treated better. We mean, they could have got less screen time and retained an air of mystery, as mysterious masked observers, instead of their constant blabbering and inane conversations.
  8. We could sense this coming up from a mile, that Hwang Jun-ho and the mysterious man with the black mask  or the Front Man are brothers.  Apparently, the police man Hwang Jun-ho is looking for his brother, and it seems that he has been missing recently. But it seems that the Front Man had won the game back in 2015 and instead of enjoying his millions, he chose to be a front-man.  This also means that he was missing since 2015, and if yes, why him being missing was not such a big deal then? This again also means, a bunch of people havce been missing for years. Why wasn’t this ever found out?
  9. Don’t know why the blew all the glass in the end? It could have killed them all, risking the winner.
  10. The last game was a huge let-down. After all the games that were fabulous, nerve-wracking and exciting, the knife fight in the end was a huge dampener. The Squid Game itself, that is the final game didn’t quite stack up.  And since they had said that each game was the reminder to the games people played as children, knife fight clearly didn’t look like something that kids would play. Ideally, it would be better if the game between the two finalists was interesting and more of a game of wits, rather than brutal .
  11. Gi-hun was threatened by his creditors that they would take his organs, if he didn’t pay up. Even after winning the riches, he just seems to be walking with guilt, without creditors really getting back at him, How?    The scene showing Gi-hun checking the ATM confirms that he’s barely touched the money. So how did he pay his creditors?
  12. Squid Game is supposedly ran by a super confidential circle of billionaires, who seem to  spend a lot on the island’s security measures. At the same time, it is so easy for Jun-ho to infiltrate the island and gather proof for days disguised as a Squid Game worker. The Squid Game workers also show a lot of leniency for Jun-ho’s mistakes, even though other workers were not shown much mercy.
  13. For English viewers, the subtitles were terrible, especially in the VIP episode. Pray, why? Netflix should reconsider their contracts for translation services.
  14. Why did the other VIPs sense something amiss when one of their VIPs went missing?
  15. Why did Sae-Byok not receive medical attention after she was knifed? She was left to die  even without participating in the game, which defeats the purpose of the whole contest.
