Anupam Tripathi as Ali Abdul in Squid Game




Anupam Tripathi is an Indian actor based in South Korea.  He has appeared in quite a few South Korea TV shows and movies, where he played Sri Lankan, Indian, Nepali and Pakistani characters. But he found international fame as the Pakistani character Ali Abdul in  ‘Squid Game’.

Anupam Tripathi was born to a middle-class family in New Delhi on November 2, 1988. He is a trained singer and actor. He went to Korea in 2010 to study in the Korea National University of Arts and stayed there. He began getting a lot of small roles which he excelled at.  By 2021, Anupam completed his master’s degree in acting.

Career Rise of Anupam Tripathi

He started getting roles in South Korean plays during the third year of his stint at the university. His first role in a movie was that of a Sri Lankan in ‘Ode to My Father’.  He played  the roles of migrant workers in movies like Asura,  Luck Key, Miss and Mrs Cops and Space Sweepers. He had similar roles in TV shows like Let’s Eat 2 and Hospital Playlist.
