Kourtney Mary Kardashian is a well known American television personality and socialite who rose to fame after starring on her family’s reality show titled ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ on which she appears with sisters Kim and Khloe and mother Kris Jenner. The show has been on air since 2007 on the E! Network and thus far has completed 13 seasons. Kardashian has also appeared in various spin off’s of the show. She is also a successful businesswoman and model.

Kardashian is part of the Kardashian-Jenner multi-million empire that the family has become known for since their television appearances. While she has a thriving fashion and retail businesses, with her clothing collection store ‘D-A-S-H’; that she owns along with her sisters, she has also launched her own line of fragrances and co-written the book Kardashian Konfidential along with her sisters.

Early Life and Education

Kardashian was born on 18 April 1979 in Los Angeles, California to Kristen Mary Jenner née Houghton, a television personality and Robert Kardashian, a lawyer on the ‘dream team’ defending football player O.J Simpson when he was on a murder trial. She is the eldest daughter of her parents and has three younger sibling; Sisters Kim and Khloe and brother Robert. Her parents divorced in 1991 and Kris got remarried to Olympics winner Bruce Jenner (known as Caitlyn now) in 1976. Through her mother’s second marriage, Kardashian has 4 step siblings; brothers Burton, Brandon and Brody and stepsister Casey; and two half-sisters named Kendall and Kylie.

Kardashian attended and graduated from Marymount High School in Los Angeles. She later enrolled into Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas but left after two years in order to attend the University of Arizona in Tuscon from where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts with a minor in Spanish. In fact, she is the only one among Kardashian sisters to have attended college.

Career Rise

Kardashian’s first taste with reality television was with the 2005 show Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive. In 2007, E! Network commissioned the entire Kardashian-Jenner family to star in a reality series that was named ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, which proved to be very successful and led to the creation of several spin-offs like ‘Kourtney and Kim Take New York’, ‘Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami’, ‘Khloe & Lamar’ etc. As a business woman, Kardashian owns two main clothing line ‘Smooch’, a children’s clothing boutique that she owns with her mother and D-A-S-H, an adults clothing line that she owns with sisters Kim and Khloe. Her other business ventures include the clothing lines for Bebe, K-Dash which is sold on QVC and a sunless tanner, Kardashian Glamour Tan.

Kardashian is also the co-author of the book Kardashian Konfidential which she wrote with Kim and Khloe in 2010. She also appeared in an episode of ‘One Life to Live’.  Along with her sisters, Kardashian represents ‘PerfectSkin’, a skin-care line developed for Perfect Science labs by Dr Ron DiSalvo. In March, 2010 the sisters launched a 20-piece collection jewellery line for Virgins, Saints, and Angels that reflects their partial Armenian ancestry.

Kardashian started dating socialite Scott Disick in 2006, and had an on-off relationship with him for close to a decade. She gave birth to their first son named Mason Dash Disick on 14 December 2009. Their daughter is called Penelope Scotland Disick, and was born on 8 July 2012. Kourtney gave birth to their third child, a son called Reign Aston Disick on 14 December 2014, which is also the birthday of her eldest son Mason. The petite 1.52 meter tall Kardashian’s relationship with Disick has mostly been tumultuous due to the latter’s alcohol addiction and partying ways. When they started dating again, Scott purchased an engagement ring and asked Kardashian her opinion on marriage, but Kardashian said she didn’t wish to change anything, so Disick didn’t propose. In July 2015, E! reported that the couple had broken up for good, but maintain a cordial relationship for the sake of their children.
