Abigail Haight “Abby” Huntsman is a renowned American broadcast journalist who is best known for her work at the Fox network’s Fox News Channel where she served as a co-host of the network ‘s popular show ‘Fox & Friends: Weekend Edition’. Huntsman embarked upon a career in journalism at the young age of sixteen when she was hired in an off-camera position at the ABC network, serving on the network’s morning news-cast and talk program ‘Good Morning America ‘. She later became a political commentator for the network. Furthermore, she was featured at the 26th position in Forbes Magazine’s list of ’30 under 30 up and coming member of the media’ in the year 2013.

Early Life and Education

Huntsman was born on 1st May 1986 in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA as the second of the six children born to activist Mary Kay Huntsman, and her husband Jon Huntsman Jr., who served as a former governor of the state of Utah. Huntsman’s siblings include an older sister Mary Jane, and four younger siblings, sisters Elizabeth and Gracie Mei, and brothers Jon II and William. Huntsman also has another sister, Asha Bharati, a girl adopted by her parents from India.  She is of white ethnicity.

Huntsman was raised in Utah Singapore and Taiwan from where she completed her primary, secondary and high school education. She then enrolled into the University of Pennsylvania from where she graduated in 2008 with a Philosophy, Politics, and Economics Degree (PPE). While at University, Huntsman interned for Diane Sawyer, who became a huge influence in her life and career.

Career Rise

Huntsman began her media career in an off-camera, behind-the-scenes position at the ABC Network, serving on the morning news program ‘Good Morning America’. She earned her first significant role in 2012 in the capacity of a political commentator at ABC news network with a base in Washington, D.C. Huntsman also appeared as a political representative of her father on the show, during and after his presidential campaign. In October 2012, the ABC News program Huntsman ‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ profiled Huntsman in their segment ‘Five Questions’. She was also interviewed by Brian Williams on the show ‘Rock Center’ where she offered her take on Mitt Romney’s run for President of U.S.A. Huntsman also worked at the international public relations company Burson-Marsteller. She also served as host and producer for ‘HuffPost Live’, the streaming network of Huffington Post’s and appeared as a guest on several CNN programs.

Although Huntsman belonged to a political family, she started carving her own identity when she was hired in July 2013 by MSNBC as the co-host of ‘The Cycle’ as S.E. Cupp’s replacement as a conservative. She co-hosted the show for two years until July 2015. In October 2015, Huntsman was offered a position at the Fox News Channel where she served as a general assignment reporter, covering day-time and prime-time news stories on various FOX channels. Husband

Huntsman met Jeffrey Bruce Livingston while they students at University of Pennsylvania. The couple dated for a few years and tied the knot in August 2010 at the Washington National Cathedral. Livingston, serves as a principal at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, a private equity firm. Huntsman announced that she was pregnant with their first child, a girl, in July 2017. The couple reside in New York City and have a pet dog named George.

Huntsman is an active supporter of gay rights and marriage and supported Margaret Hoover and Meghan McCain by appearing in an advertisement supporting gay marriage in the year 2013.
