Early Life and Education

Simonetti was born on 10 October 1984, in Manhattan, New York City, New York, where she was also raised. She is the daughter of business man Raymond Simonetti and his home-maker wife Janet Simonetti and was raised in an affluent family. Simonetti has two siblings and is of Italian and White- American ethnicity. She was raised as a Christian

Simonetti completed her primary and high school education from Manhattan and later attended George Washington University from where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. Simonetti spent a semester, sailing across the world and studying in various countries.  She later attended Columbia University in Manhattan, graduating with a Masters of Arts degree in the fields of Arts, comparative literature and English.

 

Career Rise

Simonetti started her professional career in 2007 in the capacity of a field producer for the Fox Business channel and later spent several years as a free-lancer. She came to prominence after joining CNN, where she first served as an associate producer and a program writer for shows on CNN national and international and Headline News. She was later promoted to the position of a producer and business news writer and spent her last two years at the network as the sole business producer, working on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

Simonetti re-joined FBN in September 2011 as a general assignment reporter and a host for the networks TV and Radio programs. Simonetti first served as a production assistant on the “Lou Dobbs Tonight” show. She was named as the co-host of the FBN:AM show. While working at FBN, Simonetti has covered several economic news events which include the great financial crisis of 2008, the Lehman Brothers’ bankruptcy, the impact of the oil spill in the Gulf, major IPOs of companies like Twitter and Facebook as well as the Ponzi scheme of Bernie Madoff. She interviewed several investors, executives and traders work on the NYSE, NASDAQ, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) floors and currently serves as the host of “Good Day New York”. 

 

Personal Life

For a long time, the 5 feet1 inch tall Simonetti was rumored to be a lesbian with her neither  accepting nor refuting the rumors. The gossip died down when Simonetti met Mark Cubrilo, Fox News Channel’s satellite and field engineer in 2008 while working on the same coverage unit and dated him for three years until they got married on 1 October 2011 at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston, New Jersey. The couple chose the African countries of Tanzania and Zanzibar for their honeymoon. Together they have one child, a daughter named Rae.
