Career
Isha was became a board-member of Reliance Retail and Jio in October 2014. Her dad Mukesh Ambani credited Isha for rooting the idea of Jio. At the Financial Times ArcelorMittal Boldness in Business Awards, Mukesh said, “In 2011,Isha mooted the idea of Jio. She was then a student of Yale, in the US. She had come for holidays and was going to submit some course-related project work. She told me, “Dad, the Internet at our house, sucks.”
Isha and her brother, made her father aware that India needed a mobile data provider that would be both high speed and affordable. This was a time, when Indian consumers would get poor data connectivity. Also, the mobile data providers would charge ridiculously high costs and give pittance as data. Jio launched in 2016, proved to be a game-changer in a year’s time, as it made data costs not only affordable to every Indian but also made India’s the world’s largest mobile data consuming country.
The 1.6 meter tall Isha Ambani is also the founder of AJIO, an online fashion retailer and subsidiary of Reliance Retail. Isha in in charge of branding and managing the brand.
Isha Ambani Anand Piramal – Marriage
Isha and Anand Piramal have been friends for a long time, their families have known each other since four decades. Anand is the founder of Piramal Realty and has also floated a rural health-care initiative that treats almost 45,000 people in a day.
Anand proposed to Isha at a temple in Mahabaleshwar. The two got engaged in May 2018, and the marriage is planned in the month of December in the same year.
