In a career spanning 2 decades, Faris has been associated with multiple major news and television channels such as NBC and ABC, where her career flourished. Faris was the co-anchor of the news programs titled ‘World News Now’ as well as ‘America This Morning’ at the network.

From July 18, 2014 to July 22, 2018,she was the co-anchor of ‘Good Morning America Weekend’.  She was also the co-host of   The View from episodes 19 to 21

Early Life and Education

Faris was born on 26 October 1975 in the city of Jackson, Michigan, United States of America. She is the daughter of Carol and Edward Faris. She was raised in the city of her birth where she completed her high School education.

Faris is the only child of her parents and has no siblings. She has White and Lebanese ethnicity, with her father being born in Lebanon and immigrating to USA.

Faris attended and graduated from Cedarville University, Ohio in 1997 from where she earned a majors degree in broadcasting. She also did her minor in television production. Faris was raised as a Christian and has gone on record to state that her faith has always been extremely important to her.

Faris’ first role as an anchor and reporter was at the WKEF/WRGT network, where she initially started off as a production assistant, but  went on to serve the network for one year.

In 2002, she started working at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio in the capacity of a sports anchor for both weekdays and weekends and served at the network until 2005, when her contract expired

From 2005-2011,  Paula Faris served as a sports reporter and anchor at WMAQ-TV, an affiliate of NBC in Chicago.

Faris began her career at the ABC network in 2012 and worked on shows such as ‘America This Morning’ and ‘World News Now’. While she mostly worked on assignments, she also filled in occasionally as a substitute on the show ‘Good Morning America’, until she was promoted to correspondent for all major programs and platforms on ABC.

Since August 2015, Faris was  also the co-host of ‘The View’, a position she was holding since the 19th season of the show.

On September 29, 2018 Faris quit Weekend Good Morning America.   The same month, she began working for Good Morning America.

Along with her new role in the ABC Network, she also started her own podcast, which is faith-based in content.

The podcast is called ‘J0urneys of Faith’, in which she calls  on influential people and talk to them about how they have used spiritual power and faith at crucial and sensitive moments of their lives. Some of the interviewees include  Robin Roberts,  Ben Shaprio, Kellyanne Conway,  Hillary Scott, Marla Maples and more.

Faris dated and later married John Krueger who was a fellow student at the Cedarville University. Kruegar works at the Real Estate Firm Marcus & Millichap. The couple got married in 2000 and together, they have three children, a daughter named Caroline Grace born in 2007 and two sons JJ Krueger and Landon Krueger born in 2009 and 2014 respectively.

 

A staunch Christian, Faris religiously attends the Hillsong Church in New York with her family every weekend. They live in Westchester County, outside New York.
