Many rock ‘n’ roll fans know Scott Weiland well. He became famous as the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, a big alternative rock band from the 1990s. They had hits like “Sex Type Thing,” “Creep,” and “Trippin’ on a Hole in a Paper Heart.” After Stone Temple Pilots split up in the early 2000s, Weiland joined a supergroup called Velvet Revolver. It had members from Guns N’ Roses like Slash and Duff McKagan, along with Dave Kushner from Wasted Youth.
After leaving Velvet Revolver, Scott Weiland worked on different music projects, like Art of Anarchy and the Wildabouts. But his health got worse because of his long struggle with drugs and alcohol, as Louder explains. Sadly, he died on December 3, 2015, from accidentally taking too many drugs. Despite this, he left behind a great legacy of rock ‘n’ roll music. He’s remembered by his children, Noah Mercer Weiland and Lucy Olivia Weiland.
Noah Weiland, following in his father’s footsteps, pursued a singing career in the band Suspect208, alongside other rockstar offspring like London Hudson and Tye Trujillo. However, he faced challenges with drugs and was eventually removed from the band. Despite setbacks, Noah is now focusing on his solo music.
Lucy Weiland, on the other hand, opted for a quieter path as a model with Elite Model Management, maintaining a low profile but occasionally sharing memories of her father on Instagram.
After Scott Weiland’s passing, his ex-wife Mary Forsberg Weiland wrote an article in Rolling Stone, revealing the hardships their children, Noah and Lucy, faced with their father’s struggles. Mary emphasized the importance of understanding Scott’s complexities and their children’s mixed emotions.
In tribute to their father, Noah and Lucy curated a Spotify playlist titled “Songs That Remind Me Of My Dad” on what would’ve been his 50th birthday, expressing their love and remembrance. Additionally, they honored his memory by wearing his clothes in a poignant photo shared by photographer Randall Slavin on Instagram.
Despite challenges, both Noah and Lucy have grown into admirable adults, resembling both their parents. While Noah faced setbacks with Suspect208, he has embarked on a new musical journey with Blu Weekend, alongside Tye Trujillo, showing resilience and determination.
