Jerome Crayon is widely recognized as the half-brother of rapper Dr. Dre  . Dr Dre is an American rapper record producer and entrepreneur whose original name is Andre Romelle Young.

Dr. Dre is not just a rapper; he’s a cultural icon, a record producer, and an entrepreneur. Dr. Dre’s journey to success began with his extraordinary talent for music. He’s the mastermind behind hits that have rocked the charts and shaped the hip-hop scene.

Born in Compton, California, in 1965, Dr. Dre rose from the streets to become a hip-hop legend. Despite gang violence and family challenges, his passion for music drove him forward. He found fame with N.W.A., producing hits like “The Chronic” in 1992. Controversy followed him due to accusations of violence against women. Despite setbacks, Dre mentored stars like Snoop Dogg and Eminem and founded companies like Aftermath Entertainment and Beat Electronics.

Through Aftermath, Dr. Dre provided a platform for numerous artists to shine and express their creativity. He co-founded Beats Electronics, a company that revolutionized the audio industry with its high-quality headphones and speakers. He was previous co-Founder, co-owner, and the president of Death Row Records.

  James Crayon and Dr. Dre have the same mother – Verna Young 

Jerome Crayon and Dr. Dre are half-brothers. Jerome’s date of birth isn’t known. Jerome’s mom, Verna Young, was once married to Dr. Dre’s dad, Theodore Young. They split up in 1968 and officially ended their marriage in 1972. So, while they share the same mom, their dads are different. That’s the family connection between Jerome Crayon and the rapper Dr. Dre.

 Jerome’s mother Verna Young, had three children from her second husband Curtis Crayon, sons Jerome and Tyree and daughter Shamika. Jerome’s mother Verna is a teacher at the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School. She had also become the  Principal of Bonham Elementary School  for nearly nine years.

Sadly, Jerome Crayon passed away when he was just a baby because of pneumonia. Dr. Dre, his brother, honored Jerome by dedicating a song called “The Message,” from the album 2001, to him. It’s a touching tribute to his memory.
