Gigi Hadid or Jelena Noura Hadid as the birth name suggests was born on April 23, 1995 in Los Angeles, California to Mohamed Hadid and Yolanda Hadid. Her father is of Palestinian-American authenticity while her mother is Dutch-American. Gigi has two siblings, a younger sister, Bella Hadid who is also a super model and a brother, Anwar Hadid.
Gigi’s parents divorced and both their parents remarried later. She has two half-siblings from her father’s side and five half-siblings from her mother’s remarriage with music producer David Foster.
She finished her schooling from Malibu High School. Gigi was captain of the varsity volleyball team in her school. Not just that, she was a competitive horseback rider during the times. Gigi’s modelling career started when she was just a mere two years old. She modelled for the “Guess” campaign as the Baby Guess but later opted out of it owing to her academics. She later resumed the modelling in 2011 under the guidance of Paul Marciano. She did the same campaign under Guess and was also the face of the campaign in 2012.
Gigi rose to fame after she relocated to New York and got signed to IMG Models in the year 2013 and later walked the New York Fashion Show for Desigual. After that, the contracts started flooding in and she was soon signed to cover the CR Fashion Book.
